If there was ever a contest to figure out which quadcopter would chime in as the most competitive stocking stuffer this Christmas, The Hubsan X4 H107L would be it. Tiny, highly affordable (around $40), ready to fly and incredibly fun right out of the box, the Hubsan X4 series is an integral option for anyone who’s eager to try out flying but is apprehensive about spending a lot of money.
Of all the mini series models on this site, Hubsan’s X4 is the best selling and one of the smallest. You’d think that this would indicate a lack of quality in its build, but it’s actually incredibly responsive and a very sturdy piece of machinery. Just charge the battery, calibrate and start it in hover mode while you teach yourself to fly around the house. Granted that may only last a short time (6-7 minutes), so it is highly recommended upgrading the batteries for a few extra dollars to give yourself an extra 30% flight time. It also comes with a very functional LCD screen transmitter and some pretty sweet LED lights on the drone itself for those late night drone dance parties around the house.
